On May 1, 2006 in Bryansk officers of the Organized Crime Control Department detained 14 participants of the May Day rally, including supporters of the Movement Against Illegal Immigration (DPNI), who came to the rally with DPNI symbols and slogans. At the police station (OVD of the Soviet district of Bryansk), all the detainees were fingerprinted, photographed and then released.
The leader of the local branch of the DPNI, Dmitry Zubov, was seized flags and armbands with the symbols of the DPNI, as well as propaganda literature - newspapers and books.
On May 5, D. Zubov was detained by officers of the Organized Crime Control Department, and after a few hours he was released. The reasons for the detention are unknown. The flags and banners seized on May 1 by DPNI were not returned.
