Viktor Shmakov has been charged

The editor-in-chief of the Ufa newspaper "Provincial News" Viktor Shmakov , who is in a pre-trial detention center, has been charged under Art. 280 h. 2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation and under Art. 212 part 3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“calls for active disobedience to the lawful demands of representatives of the authorities and for riots”).

According to Shmakov's lawyer, his client's case was transferred from the republican department of the FSB to the department for especially important cases of the Bashkir prosecutor's office.
