The State Duma rejected amendments to the Code of Administrative Offenses on countering religious extremism, but decided to develop a corresponding draft federal law

to the Code of the Russian Federation on Administrative Offenses proposed by the parliamentarians of Kabardino-Balkaria On May 19, the State Duma considered in the first reading the amendments , designed to prevent religious extremism. The deputies considered the proposals of the Kabardino-Balkarian colleagues to be insufficiently elaborated, however, they considered that the problem they raised deserved to be resolved at the legislative level. Boris Gryzlov instructed to develop a corresponding draft federal law.

The deputies decided to reject the amendments to the Code of Administrative Offenses (68 people voted for the amendments, while the necessary 226). Earlier, the State Duma Committee on Public Associations and Religious Organizations recommended that the Kabardino-Balkarian deputies finalize their proposals.
