Newspaper distributors detained in Irkutsk region

the Shelekhovsky Rabochy newspaper were detained On May 21, 2006, in Shelekhov, Irkutsk region, near the checkpoint of the Irkutsk aluminum plant, distributors of - two activists of the Siberian Confederation of Labor (SKT) and an activist of Autonomous Action.

Factory security officers tried to detain the distributors, and after their attempt failed, they called the police, who detained the activists.

At the police station, the distributors of the newspaper were interrogated (moreover, the policemen threatened the detainees). Issues of the newspapers "Shelekhovsky Rabochiy", "Situatsiya" and leaflets with calls to oppose the construction of the oil pipeline "Eastern Siberia - the Pacific Ocean" were confiscated.

After drawing up protocols on the seizure of printed materials, the detainees were released.
