Nikolai Baluev was declared insane

On May 23, 2006, it became known that a psychological and psychiatric examination in a hospital recognized one of the defendants in the case of preparing terrorist attacks, the Novosibirsk National Bolshevik Nikolai Baluev, as insane .

N. Baluev's lawyer Petr Fesenko reported that his client, placed in a separate cell, developed a reactive psychosis. The lawyer intends to petition for sending Baluev for treatment to a hospital and lifting the measure of restraint in the form of arrest. "However, according to unofficial information, the prosecution intends to file a motion to send my client for a second psychological and psychiatric examination at the Serbsky Institute in Moscow ," he said.

It is reported that the next meeting at the trial is scheduled for May 26, 2006.

On May 26, 2006, the Novosibirsk Regional Court sent N. Baluev for a second psychological and psychiatric examination. The court also extended the accused's detention for three months.
