On May 29, 2006, the Primorsky Department of the Federal Service for Supervision of Compliance with Legislation in the Sphere of Mass Communications and the Protection of Cultural Heritage issued a warning to the founder and editor-in-chief of the Gorod U newspaper, Eduard Kayumov.
The reason for the warning was the article "Let's get out of the trenches" published on April 19, 2006. As noted in the text of the warning, the text of the publication contains the following statements: “Stop sitting in the trenches, stop retreating before the authorities! We must overthrow this corrupt government headed by V.V. Putin by any means. My comrades and I are ready to go to the barricades of the revolution. We Let's boldly go into battle in order to return Soviet power, and not live by US overseas decrees .
Thus, according to the Primorsky Department of Rosokhrankultura, the article contains extremist calls for a violent change in the constitutional order, for the seizure of power, for mass riots motivated by ideological, political hatred (violation of Article 1 of the Federal Law "On countering extremist activity"). And the editorial office, by publishing extremist materials, violated the requirements of Article 4 of the Mass Media Law and Article 11 of the Federal Law "On counteracting extremist activity."
