Search of an opposition activist in Ufa

On June 2, 2006, in Ufa, officers of the FSB and the prosecutor's office searched the apartment of NBP activist Aleksey German. During the search, representatives of the special services, according to the BashRevKom website, were looking for materials compromising the leader of the Bashkir opposition Airat Dilmukhametov and journalist Viktor Shmakov . Floppy disks with articles published on the mentioned site were confiscated.

The formal reason for the search was a court ruling (probably at the request of the prosecutor's office) that the circulation of the Provincial News newspaper was kept in Herman's apartment. No newspapers were found during the search.
