Attack on activists of the United Front in Voronezh

On June 11, 2006, representatives of the regional branch of the United Civil Front (UCF) were attacked in Voronezh.

Near the office of the front, Alexander Nazarenko was hit on the head with a baseball bat. Before losing consciousness, he heard "advice" from his attackers not to get involved in politics. Two other UHF activists - Artur Nazarenko and Nikolai Makhalenko - got into a fight with unknown people and received various bodily injuries.

The police intend to initiate a criminal case under Art. 112 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("causing moderate harm to health").

According to Nazarenko, the attack is connected with the socio-political activities of the Voronezh branch of the United Civil Front.

On June 9, 2006, Alexander and Artem Nazarenko were attacked, which they regarded as attempted murder. Near the office of the United Civil Front, unknown people in a Ford car with mud-stained license plates tried to run over the activists, who managed to jump away, and then fled the scene at high speed.
