A resident of Yaroslavl fired at a gypsy house
On June 18, 2006, in the village of Karmanovsky, Kirovsky District, Yaroslavl, a 36-year-old man opened fire from a hunting rifle at the windows of a house where a Roma family lives. As a result, the 56-year-old head of the family received gunshot wounds to the chest, arm and leg and was taken to intensive care. A 25-year-old woman was also slightly injured.
According to the Yaroslavl Kirovsky District Department of Internal Affairs, "a man was detained, whom he shot at the windows out of personal dislike. In total, he fired six to seven shots from a hunting rifle."
The shooter turned out to be a resident of a neighboring house and was intoxicated. The police squad that detained the shooter seized the IZH-18 rifle from him, for which the suspect did not have a permit. The suspect will be subjected to a psychiatric evaluation. According to neighbors, he had previously shown a tendency to inappropriate aggressive acts (for example, he beat a goat half to death).
According to unofficial data, the conflict occurred due to a quarrel between Russian and Gypsy children, during which "the children spoke incorrectly about the nationality of their opponents . " However, the victims themselves do not assess the conflict as "national", believing that the children were simply teasing each other.
On this fact, the police initiated a criminal case under Art. 213 of the Criminal Code RV (hooliganism).
