A conference was held in St. Petersburg on the problems of interaction between law enforcement agencies and NGOs in the field of combating extremism and xenophobia

In the middle of June 2006 in St. Petersburg, in the premises of the prosecutor's office of the Leningrad region, a conference "Organization of coordinating interaction between law enforcement agencies and human rights organizations to prevent and suppress manifestations of extremism, neo-Nazism and xenophobia" was held.

The event was attended by 42 employees of the prosecutor's office - prosecutors of districts of the region, deputy prosecutors of St. Petersburg, employees of the prosecutor's office, as well as NGO leaders, academic experts, journalists of St. Petersburg.

The organizers of the conference are the Russian Section of the International Society for Human Rights in Russia, the Russian Anti-Fascist Movement, the Moscow Bureau for Human Rights, the Institute of Regional Press of St. Petersburg.

The conference participants were addressed by the Prosecutor of the Leningrad Region Sergei Romanyuk, Deputy of the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg Igor Rimmer, member of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation, Chairman of the Russian Anti-Fascist Movement Kamilzhan Kalandarov, Deputy Prosecutor of St. Petersburg Andrei Lavrenko, President of the RS ISHR Vladimir Novitsky and others.
