On June 23, 2006, activists of the National Bolshevik Party were detained in St. Petersburg, who were going to take part in an "anti-globalization" open-air seminar.
The detainees were brought to the 19th police station, where they were held for more than five hours without any charges being brought. Police officers had a "conversation" with them about plans for the G8 summit. According to the NBP-Info website, one of the detainees was beaten during interrogation.
Simultaneously with the detention of the National Bolsheviks, police officers explained to journalists who had gathered to cover the failed action that the protesting citizens in St. Petersburg are divided into "good" (for example, those who oppose building or eviction from hostels) and "bad" (National Bolsheviks).
