On June 26, 2006, the American human rights organization Human Rights First distributed two reports on manifestations of nationalism and racism in the Russian Federation.
The report "Minorities under siege: hate crimes and manifestations of intolerance in the Russian Federation" is devoted to the problem of the growth of crimes motivated by ethnic and racial hatred and the reaction of the authorities to this problem. It provides recommendations to the leadership of the Russian Federation on effective counteraction to such crimes. (Short version of the report in Russian can be viewed here ).
The second report "Minorities under siege: the case of St. Petersburg" (Russian version will be available later) reveals the specifics of the situation with racist manifestations in St. Petersburg.
