In Novgorod, a sentence was passed under Art. 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation

On July 10, 2006, the Novgorod City Court sentenced 17-year-old Alexander Rumyantsev under Part 1 of Art. 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("incitement of national, racial or religious hatred"). Taking into account mitigating circumstances, the court sentenced A. Rumyantsev to a fine of five thousand rubles.

"In the period established by the legislation of the Russian Federation, the participants in the process can appeal the verdict to the Collegium for Criminal Cases of the Novgorod Regional Court ," the press service said.

In his last speech, the accused fully admitted his guilt and declared remorse.

Recall that the criminal case against Alexander Rumyantsev, a student of vocational school N 15, was initiated on February 25, 2006. According to the investigation, during 2005 he, at the entrance of his house at 38 Pskovskaya Street, regularly applied inscriptions ( " Russia - for Russians!", "Suitcase, station, Caucasus!", "Skinheads - power!" ), aimed at inciting national, racial or religious hatred, as well as images of a swastika and a "Celtic cross".

A. Rumyantsev was charged under part 1. Art.282 ("incitement of national, racial or religious hatred") and Part 1 of Art. 280 (“public calls for extremist activity”) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. Subsequently, the charge of extremism was dropped from Rumyantsev in connection with the amnesty.

The investigation found that A. Rumyantsev actively preached the ideas of skinheads among the teenagers of the city, attended RNU meetings.

The investigation into the case ended in May 2006, after which it was transferred to the Novgorod City Court.
