A program to prevent political extremism is being developed in Veliky Novgorod

On July 27, 2006, a regular meeting of the Regional Commission for Juvenile Affairs (KDN) took place in Veliky Novgorod, during which, in particular, the issue of countering political and religious extremism was considered.

It is reported that 50 people are registered, who are members of "political organizations with an extremist bias." Novgorod KDN refers to such organizations Russian National Unity, skinheads and the National Bolshevik Party (we emphasize that this list includes both left-wing and right-wing radical organizations).

In 2006, the Department of Internal Affairs of the region revealed 6 extremist crimes, and criminal cases were initiated on four.

The commission members came to the conclusion that it is necessary to develop a special program for the prevention of political extremism, the main sections of which will be presented by the next meeting.
