The Tambov Meridian newspaper reported on a story that took place in the city in early July 2006.
Several teenagers organized a "gang" called "SS" and decided to rob someone "non-Russian". In the absence of other candidates, the teenagers began to extort money from their classmate - a dark-skinned and curly-haired boy who bears a Russian surname.
Teenagers intimidated a friend - and he gave them a thousand dollars, which was kept at home. After some time, they again tried to demand money from him, but the boy's mother was at home: she overheard a telephone conversation, prompted her son to tell about what was happening, after which she filed a complaint with the police.
The parents of the attackers returned the money taken by their children, after which the victim stated that she had no claims against them.
