On August 14, 2006, the prosecutor's office of the Volzhsky district of the Samara region opened a criminal case under Art. 282, part 2, paragraph "a" of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("actions aimed at inciting hatred or enmity, as well as at humiliating the dignity of a person on the grounds of nationality"). The case was initiated on the fact of drawing a swastika and inscriptions of a nationalist nature on the gates of a summer cottage in the village of Aglos.
