On September 1, 2006, in Ryazan, within the framework of the project "Counteracting Hate Speech: Monitoring and Public Actions. A New Stage (2005-2007)", the regional campaign "Ryazan - a City Without Hate" was launched. The campaign is carried out by the Ryazan School of Human Rights.

The project work includes 5 components:

media component - campaign "Ryazan - a city without enmity",
monitoring of "hate speech" in the print media of the region;
legal actions (together with the Ryazan regional branch of the all-Russian movement "For Human Rights");
public actions in defense of public interests;
the educational component is a series of special events for journalists.

The preparatory stage of the campaign "Ryazan - a city without enmity" was preceded by the regional monitoring of the use of "hate speech" in the regional print media, which began in January 2006, and a series of legal actions, according to the methodology used in the framework of this project since 2000.

Based on the results of the monitoring, which is scheduled to end in December 2006, journalists will be offered a "rating" of newspapers and authors carrying "hate speech" in their texts.
