Rally in Petrozavodsk: anarchists against skinheads and DPNI. No one came to Olonets

On September 5, 2006, in Petrozavodsk, right-wing organizations tried to organize a "people's gathering", similar to the September 2 rally in Kondopoga . However, the action actually failed - according to news agencies, no more than 150-200 people took part in it. According to some reports, this number included anarchists who tried to drown out the slogans of right-wing radicals from the DPNI and skinheads sympathizing with them (according to some reports, the skinheads came from St. Petersburg).

Representatives of the DPNI, headed by Alexei Mikhailov (according to some sources, he is a local activist, according to others, an emissary of the movement from Moscow) shouted "Glory to Russia!" Anarchists chanted "No to fascists of all stripes from the doorway to the authorities!", "Our enemy is not in Chechnya, our enemy is in the Kremlin!"

Later, Nashi joined the rally and "began to explain that the incidents in Kondopoga occurred exclusively on domestic grounds and were used by certain forces to incite ethnic hatred" . As a result, the "Nashi" themselves almost became victims of the protesters. However, as a result, no excesses occurred at the Petrozavodsk rally.

The small number and heterogeneity of the "descent" in Petrozavodsk did not prevent the local DPNI activists, who, of course, deny their involvement in organizing the rally, from initiating an "anti-immigrant" resolution, with typical demands for the movement to "evict illegal migrants."

A similar rally in Olonets did not take place due to the absence of participants. The failure of the "gatherings" at right-wing forums was explained by the pressure exerted on potential participants in the "gathering" by the city authorities. However, it is also important, in our opinion, that, unlike the actions in Kondopoga, there was almost no centralized coordination of the actions of Petrozavodsk right-wing radicals by the DPNI.
