The Public Chamber and the State Duma recommended including the foundations of “traditional” religions in the programs of schools and universities in the North Caucasus

The Commission of the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation on Tolerance and Freedom of Conscience and the State Duma Committee on Nationalities consider it necessary to intensify cooperation between general education schools and "traditional" religious organizations in the North Caucasus.

At the initiative of the commission and the committee, hearings have already been held in Essentuki on the topic: "Peace, order and harmony in the North Caucasus through the strengthening of civil society." The purpose of the hearings, according to the head of the commission of the Public Chamber Valery Tishkov, "is to look at the North Caucasus not only from the point of view of the work of the authorities, but also to find out how various public and religious organizations operate in the region." To this end, the curricula of North Caucasian universities and refresher courses for teachers are expected to include programs to teach skills in the field of peacemaking and the basics of "traditional" religious culture.

The study of the foundations of the culture of "traditional" religions is proposed to be included in school curricula.
