On September 15, 2006, at a press conference at RIA "7 Novosti", the executive director of the Ryazan branch of the Russian Movement "For Human Rights", Alexander Bekhtold, said that the administration of Ryazan deserves the gratitude of the townspeople for the measures taken to rid the facades of buildings of nationalist slogans , swastikas and other statements inciting ethnic hatred.
In particular, A. Bechtold said that a month before, at the request of the heads of human rights organizations in the city, to which photographs of "artifacts" were attached on the facades of buildings and fences along the street. Vokzalnaya, the Department of Public Security and Order of the City Administration took action following the inspection.
A. Bechtold also stated that at present a statement with photographs of another 50 places in the city where nationalist slogans are present on the facades of buildings and structures has been sent to the relevant departments of the administration.
