Twice a week training sessions for staff of correctional facilities in the Voronezh region will be held with the participation of Orthodox priests. The topics of the classes will be determined by the leadership of the penitentiary institutions and the clergy. The decision on the participation of priests in classes with prison officers was made within the framework of an agreement between the Federal Penitentiary Service and the Russian Orthodox Church, signed 7 years ago.
According to "Blagovest-info", 12 of the 14 correctional institutions in the region have churches or prayer rooms, two of them have Sunday schools. Four permanent priests take care of the prison houses.
