In mid-October 2006, a verdict was passed in Ulyanovsk in the case of Vladimir Vostryagov, a 56-year-old resident of the city, accused of inciting ethnic and religious hatred (Article 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). The court found the defendant guilty and sentenced him to imprisonment for a term of 1 year 6 months suspended.
It should be reminded that V. Vostryagov was prosecuted for the publication and distribution of the newspaper "Vest" containing anti-Semitic materials.
