Activist of the Assyrian movement beaten in Moscow

On October 17, 2006, Shavel Bidzhamov, an activist of the Assyrian youth movement, was beaten up in a subway car between Frunzenskaya and Sportivnaya stations in Moscow. Around 19:00 h. shouting at him "Russia is for the Russians!" attacked by eight skinheads. The victim is currently in the hospital.

Nikolai Yukhanov, a member of the Moscow Assyrian society Hayadta, reported the attack. According to him, the attackers could be skinheads or football fans.

A criminal case has been initiated into the attack.

In connection with the incident, the Moscow Assyrian society "Hayadta" sent an appeal to the Prosecutor General with a request to take the investigation of the case under special control.
