On October 20, 2006, the Polit.ru website published an article by Lera Agapova "National Builders", which provides data on the connection of the Moscow construction business with the nationalist movement, in particular with the organization Movement Against Illegal Immigration by Alexander Belov (Potkin).
The cooperation of construction firms with nationalists has a purely economic background. The former need cheap labor - foreign migrant workers, who are interested in paying as little as possible, or even not paying at all. Nationalists, on the other hand, are needed to increase the intimidation of illegal immigrants, so that the owners of firms can protect themselves from possible legal consequences and liability for the illegal use of illegal labor and violation of the rights of foreign workers. The use of ideological nationalists who are always ready to provide an army of "skinheads" as a "safety net" is doubly beneficial for construction companies, since the former are ready to work "not for fear, but for conscience": "The most attractive thing for construction businessmen in neo-Nazis is their disinterestedness and sincere passion for their work struggle against "foreigners". In this sense, the effectiveness of a dozen activists is many times higher than that of a hundred highly paid mercenaries . Another function of the nationalists is to whip up anti-migrant sentiment in Moscow so that guest workers continue to remain in an illegal position, providing cheap and disenfranchised labor.
However, in the opinion of the author of the article, the "work" of the nationalists for construction companies is still not completely disinterested - the owners of the firms "pay" for services by including the leaders of the nationalists in their business. According to Polit.ru, the head of the DPNI, Alexander Belov (Potkin), appears in the database of the Federal Tax Service as the owner of a number of joint-stock companies engaged in various services in the construction industry. According to his associates, he is especially close to one of the leaders in the construction market, the Mirax company, co-founder of the Association of Builders of Russia and the general contractor of the main construction project of the Moscow City Hall - Moscow City (specifically, the construction of the Federation Tower).
Human rights activist Galina Dmitrieva, whom L.Agapova refers to as a source of information, has repeatedly noticed A.Belov in the ranks of construction chiefs of the protest actions of the workers of the Don-stroy company. Her confidence in the direct connection between the DPNI and the Moscow builders is supported by facts from personal experience. According to G. Dmitrieva, "Belov, aka Potkin" offered her a job in a Mirax subsidiary as a political strategist : he said that he was interested in it and he would support it in every possible way, but if I tried to poke my head in Mirax, then “he would tear my head off.” To be “friends” with me, he offered a manager position in this company. in a large construction company? I refused the position and all communication with the leader of the DPNI. This is unpleasant and dangerous . "
Thus, if the facts reported in the article are at least half true, the main Moscow nationalist and his organization (DPNI), whose core program is the idea of "cleansing" Moscow from migrants of other ethnicities, is directly materially interested in the ongoing influx of guest workers to the capital.
