Vietnamese students in St. Petersburg protested the jury's verdict in the Vu Anh Tuan murder case

On October 23, 2006, at 9:30 am in St. Petersburg, about 100 Vietnamese students held a protest rally in front of the city court building, where at that time a hearing on the murder of Vu Anh Tuan was taking place. The reason for the protest action was the verdict of the jury , who did not find guilty teenagers, whom the prosecutor's office had previously charged with murder.

On the same day, Vietnamese students sent a letter to the governor of St. Petersburg, Valentina Matvienko, expressing dissatisfaction with the acquittal. "We want the authorities to take urgent and effective measures to ensure the safety of foreign students ," the letter says.
