In Arzamas, the city court acquitted the National Bolsheviks
On November 14, 2006, the Arzamas City Court acquitted Oleg Vanyushin, a local National Bolshevik, who was accused of committing an offense under Article 20.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (“propaganda and public demonstration of Nazi paraphernalia and symbols”).
On October 7, 2006, O. Vanyushin was detained for using the symbols of the NBP at the "Anticapitalism-2006" march. In the department, he was charged with using symbols similar to the Nazi ones.
On October 10, 2006, a justice of the world court found him guilty and sentenced him to a fine of 500 rubles.
O. Vanyushin appealed to the city court, which overturned the decision. The court was guided by the legislation of the Russian Federation, which guarantees citizens the right to participate in peaceful demonstrations and use any symbols not prohibited by law, including the symbols of liquidated public organizations.
