Prime Minister of Armenia: We count on a thorough and objective investigation into the murder of a teenager

On November 17, 2006, Armenian Prime Minister Andronik Margaryan told journalists that Armenia was counting on a thorough and objective investigation into the murder of an Armenian teenager.

Armenia will respond to the killings of its citizens in Russia according to generally accepted procedures. "Our foreign policy department will appeal to the Russian Foreign Ministry and will be consistent in a fair solution of this issue ," A. Margaryan stated.

"All we can do is send requests officially through the Foreign Ministry to the Russian side with a request to ensure a thorough investigation of the murders that have occurred, and also unofficially make similar requests during meetings with the Russian leadership," he said .

The Armenian Foreign Ministry reported that it is not yet planned to send any request to the Russian side in connection with the murder. "The Armenian side always closely monitors the situation of Armenians in Russia and has repeatedly addressed the Russian Federation through the Armenian Foreign Minister with a request to ensure a thorough investigation of all incidents," the Foreign Ministry noted.
