Alexander Pochinok, Deputy Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Southern Federal District, believes that the reason for the manifestation of nationalism and extremism among the youth is the social and political passivity of the younger generation. "A person with an active life position is much more difficult to confuse, he is aware of his responsibility, rights and obligations and the need for a completely different attitude towards other people ," he said.
The conference was also attended by Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of the Rostov Region Alexander Popov, Deputy Governor of the Rostov Region Alexander Bedrik.
According to Galina Denisova, doctor of sociological sciences, professor at the Russian State Pedagogical University, the Rostov region is considered one of the most prosperous in terms of regulating relations with migrants and interethnic relations.
According to Professor Nikolai Avbulov (Caucasus Institute of the North Caucasian Scientific Center of Higher Education), the sources of extremism are poverty, lack of spirituality, lack of rights. Really operating mechanisms for protecting the rights of not peoples as a whole, but a particular person, will be able to save the situation.
The conference continues its work in sections: "Interethnic relations on the Don and in the Southern Federal District", "Xenophobia and extremism among young people", Conflicts among students, "Experience of tolerant education in the universities of the Rostov region".
