On December 6, 2006, during a meeting of the President of the Russian Federation with the leaders of political parties, the chairman of the YABLOKO party, Grigory Yavlinsky, gave his definition of extremism and extremists. In his opinion, “today extremists are those who create any chaos, using for this the atmosphere of impunity in relation to real evil.”
“Nationalist propaganda of any kind, attacks by skinheads, tendencies towards self-isolation of Russia, which are popular in certain circles, regular murders motivated by corruption, murders of political opponents of the authorities, no matter who they are - all these are manifestations of the most dangerous types of extremism,” emphasized leader G. Yavlinsky.
