Skinhead sentenced in Lipetsk

On December 13, 2006, the Sovetsky Court of Lipetsk passed a sentence on 21-year-old Mikhail Sokolov, who on September 10, 2006 attacked two Chinese citizens.

M. Sokolov (nickname "Needle") was charged under two articles: "attempted robbery" and "robbery with the use of violence not dangerous to life and health." The defendant fully admitted his guilt.

The court sentenced the skinhead to two and a half years in a strict regime colony. When imposing a sentence, the court was guided by the positive characteristics of M. Sokolov, who at the time of the crime, got a job and got married. In addition, the victim Hu Yuewen also asked for a commutation of the sentence.

On September 10, 2006, in the center of Lipetsk, Maxim Sokolov met two Chinese citizens. Having attacked one of them, Sokolov snatched a purse with money from the hands of a foreigner and rushed to run. When the robbed caught up with the attacker, he beat the Chinese, removed the watch from his hand, and fled the scene.

Recall that in 2005 Sokolov and other skinheads beat up a student from Mali. Then he was accused under Article 282, part 2, paragraph "a" of the Criminal Code ("incitement of racial hatred and humiliation of national dignity, committed publicly with the use of violence") and was sentenced to 2 years in prison in a colony. Six months later, he was released for exemplary behavior. The term of punishment for the previous crime has not yet been extinguished. Now another one will be added to it.
