On December 9, 2006, a congress of the Congress of Russian Communities (CRC) was held in Moscow at the Izmailovskaya Hotel.
The main topic of the congress was the revival of the KRO and the approval of its governing bodies. Deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, ex-leader of the Rodina party Dmitry Rogozin was elected chairman of the KRO.
D. Rogozin said that he considers it necessary to protect Russian businessmen. In his opinion, Russian business today faces “a huge number of obstacles, including in the form of ethnic crime and corruption.”
The ex-leader of Rodina noted with regret that today the word “Russian” and the word “fascist” have become synonymous, and called on the delegates to become “a real trade union of Russian people.” According to him, Russians have the right to exclude from Russia those ethnic groups that “demonstrate disrespect for us and crime.”
The leader of the KRO also categorically rejected accusations of extremism. He called these accusations “far-fetched” and emphasized that patriotic forces “are not involved in anything like that.”
DPNI leader Alexander Belov (Potkin) was also included in the leadership of the KRO. “Our task is to force the authorities to regain trust in their own people,” said the DPNI leader. According to eyewitnesses, A. Belov read the “Russian version of the “skinhead prayer”, 18 words about the superiority of the white race” (most likely, he meant “14 words” - an English prayer that is traditionally used by racists).
The congress was also attended by deputies from the Rodina faction in the State Duma, former member of the LDPR faction, deputy Nikolai Kuryanovich, and activists of the Union of Orthodox Banner Bearers. In total - 110 delegates and about 220 guests.
On December 15, Nikolai Kuryanovich announced his resignation from the Presidium of the Central Committee "KRO Rodina", explaining that, firstly, his inclusion in the Presidium of the Central Committee was automatic and not personally agreed upon with him, and secondly, that he considered it politically inexpedient for himself to work in this political project. At the same time, the deputy thanked his colleagues from the KRO for the “trust shown” and expressed hope for “further cooperation.”
At the end of December 2006, Syktyvkar nationalist Yuri Ekishev, convicted in November 2006 under Part 1 of Article 282, was elected in absentia to the national council of the KRO. (The new leader of the Union of National Revival (SNV) Alexander Rassokhin was included in the presidium).
It is not entirely clear how the KRO intends to obtain registration as a political party, while its governing body includes a citizen convicted under Art. 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
