January 22, 2007 in Moscow at about 19:30. In the courtyard of house 17 on Garibaldi Street, the body of 46-year-old Zurab Dzhalagonia, a native of Georgia, was found. Experts established that the unknown perpetrator inflicted about seven stab wounds on the victim in the chest and stomach.
According to unofficial data, Z. Jalagonia was attacked by 10 people after he spoke on the phone in Georgian on the street.
It was established that the deceased, a refugee from Abkhazia, was officially registered in Moscow and had Russian citizenship. When examining the body, 6 thousand rubles, car keys and a driver’s license were found.
Based on the incident, the Moscow prosecutor's office opened a criminal case under Part 1 of Art. 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (murder).
