An attempt was made on the Mufti of Ingushetia

On February 1, 2007, in Nazran, unidentified persons fired automatic weapons at the car of Ingush Mufti Isa Khamkhoev. Mufti and his son were injured and taken to the Nazran hospital. I. Khamkhoev received light tangential wounds and, after he received medical assistance, was discharged. His son is in intensive care in critical condition.
