On February 1, 2007, on behalf of the Vice-President of the International Union of Roma Nadezhda Demeter and the President of the Federal National-Cultural Autonomy of Russian Roma Alexander Bariev, the Public Collegium for Press Complaints received a complaint about anti-Roma propaganda, which, according to the applicants, was contained in the newspaper published on February 10, 2004 year on the NTV channel program "Coma" , which dealt with the problem of drug trafficking in the city of Kimry, Tver region.

The applicants point to the extreme insulting nature of the program, which forms negative anti-Gypsy stereotypes for the Gypsies, and ask the Collegium to state that this program “contains gross violations of the current legislation, professional ethics and rules of conduct for journalists” , send this decision to Rosokhrankultura for information and recommend that the NTV editors make it public the decision of the Public Collegium on complaints against the press and a refutation of the material distributed in the Coma program.

It should be noted that this is not the first attempt to achieve condemnation of a particular TV piece. In 2005 , the Moscow Helsinki Group and the European Center for Roma Rights applied to the Prosecutor General's Office with a request to check the story for compliance with Russian law (probably without result).
