The governor of the Novgorod region is concerned that there are “a lot of sects” in the region

According to REGNUM , on March 1, during a press conference on the problems of combating terrorism, Novgorod Governor Mikhail Prusak said: "There are a lot of sects on the territory of the Novgorod region, which, by the way, are being persecuted all over the world. And somewhere, because they are money should receive - for something they build their temples and palaces, in which they even hold basketball tournaments.

The governor was supported by Anatoly Tyukov, head of the regional department of the FSB, according to whom there are about 40 "sects" in the region, 17 of which are financed from abroad. A. Tyukov especially noted the activity of Jehovah's Witnesses, whose events in a number of municipalities are held in administration buildings. At the same time, he assured that "measures are being taken" and that the FSB is cooperating with the prosecutor's office and Rosregistration in this matter. Although, A. Tyukov added, "unfortunately, this problem tends to grow."
