Muslims are oppressed in correctional institutions in the Kemerovo region

In early March, during a search in Detachment No. 3 in strict regime penal colony No. 4, located in the village of Sheregesh, Tashtagolsky District, Kemerovo Region, the head of the operational unit, Captain Glekov, beat several Muslims and smashed their player with records of Muslim sermons and the Koran. The incident was reported to the head of the GUFSIN, General Dolzhantsev, but no sanctions were taken against Captain Glekov. Shortly after the incident, he was transferred to the colony of Novokuznetsk.

The same general did not allow the completion of the construction of a Muslim chapel in colony N44 in the city of Belovo. Almost completed (construction was carried out with funds raised by Muslims of the Kemerovo region), the building, by order of the head of the GUFSIN, was dismantled and taken out of the correctional facility.
