Participants in the public project "Return", which includes representatives of the Russian Orthodox Church, appealed to the Moscow authorities and the leadership of the Russian Railways with a request to return to the Leningrad station its pre-revolutionary name - Nikolaevsky. In addition, the authors of the appeal propose to return the name "Nikolaevskaya" to the Oktyabrskaya railway. The chairman of the Publishing Department of the Moscow Patriarchate, Archpriest Vladimir Siloviev, also said that he never accepted communist names and intends, within the framework of the Return project, to seek the renaming of Leninskaya Sloboda in Moscow (Avtozavodskaya metro area) into Simonova Sloboda.

The entire list will be submitted to the authorities for consideration. According to the project participants, the renaming of streets, with a competent approach, will not be accompanied by queues of Muscovites at the passport offices, since for a certain time it will be possible to keep a double name behind each renamed street.

The idea of ​​renaming "Voikovskaya" was supported by the chairman of the board of the society "Memorial" Arseniy Roginsky. "In Moscow and in our country as a whole, there are quite a lot of streets, squares and even settlements that bear the names of people involved in terror. I believe that toponymy cannot be a zone for perpetuating the memory of those people who were active conductors of political terror," - he told Interfax. "If Voikov's involvement in the extrajudicial execution of the royal family is proven, then I would support this initiative of the Orthodox Church," A. Roginsky said.
