On February 27-28, 2007 in Omsk a training seminar on the topic "Interaction between national organizations and authorities" was held.
According to its ethnic composition, the Omsk region is one of the brightest and most distinctive subjects of the Russian Federation. Representatives of more than 130 ethnic groups live here, most of which have created national-cultural associations that successfully participate in the life of the region. Thus, the topic of interaction between national organizations and authorities was relevant for the local community.
The training was organized by the Center for Interethnic Relations and the Ministry of Culture of the Omsk Region. The event was attended by leaders of the Armenian, Bashkir, Jewish, Kazakh, Latvian, German and Tatar diasporas, representative of the Department of Interethnic Relations of the Ministry of Regional Development of the Russian Federation Alexei Zenko, chief specialist of the Department for National Policy and Religion of the Ministry of Culture of the Omsk Region Natalya Rybakova and employees " Houses of Friendship" of the Omsk region.
The participants of the event discussed the following questions: "What is civil society?", "Development of civil society in our country". Aleksey Zenko, an employee of the Department of Interethnic Relations, raised the issue of the participation of national-cultural associations in monitoring interethnic relations in the region.
