On April 3, 2007, a rally was held in Izhevsk at the scene of the murder of a 17-year-old teenager. Almost 400 young people gathered to honor the memory of the deceased.
Immediately after the rally, a press conference was held by the First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of the Udmurt Republic - the head of the criminal police, police colonel Rinat Saitgareev. Prior to this, the police refused to acknowledge both the fact of the fight and the participation of a right-wing extremist group in it. Saitgareev also tried to refute the participation of radicals in the incident.
The prosecutor of the Industrial District of Izhevsk said that an 18-year-old resident of Izhevsk, who was detained in this case, is confessing, and although he denies belonging to extremist communities, " other materials of the criminal case so far confirm this version . " R. Saitgareev added that another young man was wanted in this case.
During the rally, those present laid red roses and carnations, tied black ribbons on a bush that grew nearby. The commemoration took place in complete silence.
