An Orthodox convent in the village of Razdolnoye (Primorsky Territory), which has existed for ten years, was sold by the district municipality to an entrepreneur “for bricks,” Novye Izvestiya reports . The monastery was founded in the 1990s. on the territory of the military camp by agreement between the Vladivostok diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church, the army leadership and local authorities. Monastic cells were arranged right in the former barracks, built before the revolution.

The agreement, according to which the diocese accepted the military camp "under protection", was drawn up so stupidly that neither the terms of "property preservation" nor its conditions were indicated.

The businessman himself assures that he did not know anything about the monastery and bought non-residential premises. “We didn’t know that the building was repaired and nuns live in it,” he said. I am baptized."

The nuns believe that the entrepreneur is prevaricating. According to mother Filareta, the sisters should have been warned that an auction for the sale of the monastery was being prepared: “Since we rebuilt the monastery with our own hands, since it is registered and operates legally, we should have been notified of the impending auction and given the priority right to purchase our same property."

However, the employees of the property agency respond that the law does not require anyone to be personally notified of the planned sale, and the announcement of the auction was published in the newspapers.
