After E. Limonov’s speech on Echo of Moscow, the prosecutor’s office began checking compliance with the media law

The Presnensky Interdistrict Prosecutor's Office, at the request of the Moscow Prosecutor's Office, began checking compliance with the law on mass media in connection with the broadcast of the "Nelitso" program by the radio station "Echo of Moscow" on April 9, 2007. The guest of the program was Eduard Limonov.

The Presnensky prosecutor's office demanded that Echo of Moscow provide the full text of the broadcast on electronic and paper media for study.

The radio station's editor-in-chief, Alexey Venediktov, believes that the prosecutor's office is acting selectively. “During these same days, we had on air, for example, Vladimir Yakunin, Konstantin Kosachev, and other people, but for some reason the prosecutor’s office is not interested in their interviews,” said A. Venediktov.

Let us recall that the recent appearance of E. Limonov’s interview in Gazeta caused protests from several political parties.
