A criminal case has been initiated in Karelia under Article 282 of the Criminal Code

The prosecutor's office of the city of Sortaval (Karelia) opened a criminal case under Part 1 of Art. 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (inciting ethnic hatred) on the fact of the appearance on the walls of several city buildings of inscriptions aimed at humiliating the dignity of a group of people on a national basis.

Two local residents, born in 1985 and 1988, are suspected of committing this crime. They were interrogated by the investigator in the case and released on bail.
