The trial of the murder of the imam of Kislovodsk began in the Stavropol region

On April 16, 2006, the Stavropol Regional Court began considering the merits of the case of the murder of the imam of Kislovodsk, Abubekir Kurdzhiev. The case is being heard in the city court of Kislovodsk. At the first meeting, Roman Koyushev stated that he did not plead guilty to any of the points. He also denies being an adherent of Wahhabism. "From the context of the defendant's speech, it followed that he was the victim of a combination of circumstances ," a court spokesman said.

During the preliminary hearings, the court granted the request of R. Koyushev, who is accused of the murder of Imam Kurdzhiev, to have the case heard by a court composed of three professional judges.

Recall that Roman Koyushev was charged under paragraphs. "g", "l" part 2 tbsp. 105 ("murder motivated by ethnic or religious hatred"), Part 1 of Art. 222 ("illegal acquisition, storage, transportation and carrying of firearms and ammunition"), art. 317 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("encroachment on the life of a law enforcement officer").

On May 14, 2007, the Pyatigorsk Court informed that the Stavropol Regional Court had postponed the date of pronouncing the verdict in the criminal case to May 18, 2007.
