A pagan temple was demolished in St. Petersburg
The authorities of the Frunze region decided to destroy the pagan temple located on the territory of the region. The place occupied by it is intended for the placement of sports facilities of urban and regional significance.
Earlier, on February 14, the interregional public organization (IPO) "Slavs" appealed to the district administration with a request to give the temple the status of a protected land - the People's Slavic Reserve. The administration refused, citing urban planning documentation providing for the use of the site for sports facilities. In addition, it turned out that the IPO "Slavyane" does not have permission to use this land. In 2005, KUGI confirmed that the organization took this place without permission. At the same time, the "Slavs" were sentenced to a fine of 20 thousand rubles.
The organization refused to pay the fine. Then the protocol on non-compliance with the legal order to vacate the land was considered by the Magistrate's Court, but the Slavs did not vacate the site. In April 2006, the head of the district demanded to vacate the site, but again there was no reaction. On April 11, 2007, the administration demanded that the organization remove Perun and other idols from the site until April 21. Otherwise, the administration will dismantle them on its own.
The pagans claim that they will not give up the land and will stand to the last. However, according to the representative of the organization, they are ready to move if they are given a "worthy place."
Recall that the members of the organization participated in right-wing radical actions, and the head of "Slavyan" Vladimir Golyakov was sentenced to 5 years of probation for attacking an employee of the St. Petersburg "Memorial".
On May 1, Credo.ru reported that the temple had been demolished.
