In 2006, the community of believers in the village of Volzhsky Utes, Samara Region, transferred from the Russian Orthodox Church to the jurisdiction of the Russian True Orthodox Church (RTOC). Monk Daniel (Soldatov), ​​on the pages of a church publication, spoke about the persecution of the community by law enforcement agencies and the clergy of the Russian Orthodox Church.

For example, during Holy Week, police began interviewing village residents, finding out what the community was doing and who was included in it. Then the police officers began talking to members of the community, asking what kind of clergy were visiting them. The police did not threaten the believers, but “their actions are still unauthorized,” according to RTOC.

“When we were in the bosom of the MP, no one noticed us and did not even want to know about us. Now our community is the main and most important topic of sermons in every MP church. They write about us in local church newspapers, they talk about us on every street and every shop, we are constantly being monitored in order to find something to catch us in. Every day the clergy of the MP warn their parishioners about the appearance of “schismatics” and “sectarians” who, according to them, are conducting anti-state activities. With this, the clergy of the MP are trying to bring us under. article of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation on religious extremism,” said monk Daniel.

The editors of Tserkovnye Vedomosti recalled that a year earlier , also during Holy Week, representatives of the MP attacked the RTOC church in the Sverdlovsk region.
