Three accused in the Kacharava murder case were released on their own recognizance

On April 25, 2007 in St. Petersburg, at a court hearing in the case of the murder of anti-fascist student Timur Kacharava, a decision was made to consider the case with the participation of jurors. The selection of the jury is scheduled for May 21.

The court granted the request of the defense and changed the measure of restraint for three of the seven defendants from arrest to recognizance not to leave - Semenov, Efremov and Kushakov (the initiative to change the measure of restraint for Semenov came from the prosecutor). This decision was motivated by the fact that these persons are minors and are charged with less serious crimes compared to the rest.

The court dismissed the claim of the injured party to hear the case behind closed doors.
