In the Moscow region, the prosecutor's office began new inspections of an Orthodox shelter

The director of the Nikita Orthodox Orphanage in the Pavlovo-Posadsky District of the Moscow Region, Abbot Ambrose (Shevchuk), said that the prosecutor's office had resumed inspections of the institution.

"The names are being checked, who leads the classes, when there were excursions, what buses the children were taken on, and so on," the priest specified. At the same time, the prosecutor's office does not explain the reason for the checks.

"We were told at the committee on juvenile affairs that the prosecutor's office could go to the place of inspection, deprive our mothers of guardianship and take the children," Father Ambrose said.

On May 4, cultural figures issued a statement calling on the authorities to protect the Nikita orphanage and other Orthodox shelters. According to the authors of the text, Orthodox shelters are "significantly more effective than state-run shelters." The appeal was signed by Vladimir Andreev, Mikhail Nozhkin, Sergey Bezrukov, Valery Ganichev, Tatyana Doronina, Alexander Kalyagin, Yuri Solomin, Oleg Tabakov, Tikhon Khrennikov, Albert Likhanov and others.
