On the night of April 27, the Tomsk synagogue was desecrated. Black-painted anti-Semitic inscriptions and a swastika were found on the facade of the building. According to the representative of the Department of Internal Affairs, "verification measures are being carried out, material is being developed under Article 214 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (desecration of buildings or other structures, damage to property on public transport or in other public places)."
Recall that the same act of vandalism against this synagogue was committed in the summer of 2006.
On the same day, April 27, Lilia Vygon, a representative of the Regional Department of Internal Affairs, told an ITAR-TASS correspondent that the Leninsky District Department of Internal Affairs of Tomsk had opened a criminal case under Art. 214 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
