Anti-fascist action started in Saratov
On May 3, the anti-fascist action "We are for peace" started in Saratov, organized by the youth associations of the city. Enthusiasts - university students and representatives of national communities - armed with white paint and brushes issued by the city administration, and went to paint over fascist symbols and slogans on the walls of the city. Only on the first day of the action about 100 kg were used. paints.
The largest number of nationalist "arts" was found and painted over in the central square of the city, near the State University, the Law Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the Veterinary Institute.
According to the participants of the action, after one of the "artists" was convicted in May 2006 for depicting a swastika on the wall of the Jewish Cultural Center, Nazi symbols and anti-Semitic inscriptions became less "popular". Now anti-Caucasian slogans (against "khachis" and "blacks" ) are more common in the city, the symbols of "Narodnaya Volya" are widely represented.
A similar action was already held in Saratov on the eve of Victory Day in 2006.
