In Adygea, the prosecutor's office considered books extremist that set out the foundations of Islam
The prosecutor's office of Adygea saw signs of extremism in the books "General idea of Islam" by Ali al-Tantavi and "What do you want to know about Islam", written by a team of employees of the Spiritual Board of Muslims of Adygea. These books are now banned from distribution. The ban was issued without a court decision, on the basis of an expert examination.
Deputy Mufti of Adygea for religious issues Najmetdin Abazi considers the decision of the prosecutor's office illegal. He recalled that this problem was discussed during a recent meeting of muftis of the North Caucasian republics with Dmitry Kozak, Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Southern Federal District. Then it was emphasized that any restrictions can be introduced only on the basis of relevant procedural decisions.
N. Abazi believes that in this way the prosecutor's office is trying to "put pressure on the DUM".
